It's unfortunately extremely difficult to get an internship in Canada in your situation. You will need a work permit. However before you can get a work permit, the company you will be working for must obtain a Labour Market Opinion. This process takes several months to complete and the company must first advertise the position for at least a month to prove that no Canadian could be hired for the position. Many/most companies are unfortunately unwilling to go through the LMO process because of the amount of time it takes, the costs, the paperwork involved, the advertising requirements and the fact there is no guarantee the LMO will be approved at the end of it all. However you can certainly give it a try.

You should assume the LMO and work permit processing times will be at least three months - possibly quite a bit longer.
