Hi folks,
I am a graduate student in BC and plan to apply for PR after my graduation. Recently, due to COVID-19, I availed the emergency student bursary from my institution since I was unable to find employment during the crisis. What will be the impact of this/if any on my future PR application?

It shouldn’t but you should have been able to prove that you had the funds to support yourself during your studies. If you didn't qualify for CERB you must have arrived somewhat recently. These emergency grants are usually one time only so you should be preparing if you can’t find employment even as the lockdown eases.

The big take home is that students can’t count on having employmnt when arriving in Canada which is why you are supposed to be able to provide proof that you have enough funds. It sounds like OP has not been in Canada for very long and should have had the funds. Employment may be difficult for international students to find given covid and the recession so students must prepare.

Agree, I just graduated and it's hard to find a professional job nowadays and for international students who are still studying it's even harder with the covid 19.

I understand that this is temporary relief but this was in the light of inability of employers to fund some work contracts/inability to find a co-op/internship.
