International student at US. Can I do my Masters at Canada?

Hello everyone. I am an international student at US with F1 visa who has recently finished his Bachelors. I was considering to apply to Canada for Masters because my seeking program cost is cheaper there. Most of the programs that I am considering for only has a year duration. So, if I get accepted to one of these colleges, will I be granted a year or two years visa? If only a year, will I be able to extend it if I feel like working in Canada after my masters?

Also, do I need to go back to my country in order to apply for visa or can I do it from US itself?

Any answers will be greatly appreciated. I am very confused right now and have limited time frame. Thank you in advance.
