I have completed my temporary work permit application under the IMP (Religious Work) about 10 days back. Have submitted biometric data, which has been received, but have received a request letter from IRCC asking for a few additional documents. Most are straightforward to supply (They have asked for my college graduation certificate and my daughters birth certificate) but the letter also said:

"Please provide proof of work employment experience. This must be received at this office by: 2019/12/11"

I am unclear as to what they are asking for. I have previously supplied valid employment letters from my current and previous employers, and they are not asking for replacements of these, this seems to be a separate request. The only info I can see about this seems to be related to establishing that the experience is in the relevant NOC. Mine is not. My most recent experience is in a separate field, but I have recently completed training and a university degree in the field I am now moving into -- Specifically, I previously worked in Christian retail, selling religious books and providing support to local churches and ministries, I currently work in an IT Role, but again, providing support to a church. I have recently graduated from Bible college with a degree in Applied theology and a specialism in Church Leadership, and have been offered a role as a pastor in Canada on this basis. The church I applied with was one that was very open to employing a new bible college graduate.

I did not think previous work experience in a relevant field was a prerequisite of IMP applications, and the NOC for the role (4154) doesn't list prior experience as a necessity either. But is this what they are requesting?

I have three years experience as a pastoral intern, completed during my theology training, and a letter confirming this, is this what they are asking for, and would it be suitable?

Thanks in advance.
