Please is ECA compulsory for the spouse. I'm intend to do only IELTS but not wish to do ECA becuase of the money involved. My wife is a principal applicant and she had done both ECA and IELTS.
 
for spouse ECA is not mandatory but if one wish to claim points for spouse education and language then go for ECA and IELTS
