Inquiry About Biometric Processing for Joint Canadian Visitor Visa Application

My wife and I have both applied for Canadian visitor visas together as a group/family. Initially, she completed her entire application and provided the necessary documents, after which I completed mine and submitted my documents. Under one account, we have two separate applications, with her as the primary applicant. A few hours later, she received her biometric letter and UCI number. However, I have not yet received any updates regarding my application. Is this process normal, or did we make an error in our application? I believe biometric information is required for all applicants.
