Hi i am marrying my boyfriend and plan to sponsor him under family class spousal sponsorship inland. We start living together since sept 22,2016. I was landed for pr marh 24, 2017. I didnt tell the immigrantion that i was living with my boyfriend before i land as we werent expecting it to be together till now. Question are:
1. Being landed and dont tell that i was cohabiting with my boyfriend for 6 months before i landed will that affect the processing.
2. Is it mandatory to tell them i was living with my boyfriend 6 months before i landed.
Please let me know thank you so much.
I went to the working women and the lady said that i shouldnt tell them that we lived together before i land coz they deny my application and then i ask a lawyer and said this;
You would put the date of cohabitation as the first day you have been living together regardless of being married.

Jesse

The lady was misinformed and gave you bad advice. Living together only would have been an issue for your application if you had been living together for 12 months or more before you landed. Please ignore anyone who tells you to lie or mislead IRCC. This can result in a misrepresentation charge that would not only result in you being unable to sponsor your partner, but would also put your own PR status in jeopardy. The immigration lawyer Jesse is correct, you should honestly list the date you began cohabiting with your partner and it will cause no problems for you.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate i was so nervous when she told me that i shouldnt put it there. I was reading a lot of info here and they said its not a problem. I feel releive. Thanks
