Keep in mind that INLAND applications take 2+ years to process. She may get OWP in about 4 months (not a guarantee) but she won't be able to travel outside Canada until the PR application is finalized because if for any reason she is not allowed to return to Canada application will be refused.
It might be better to apply OUTLAND, which is quicker depending on which country she is from. She will still be able to stay in Canada but will have to stop working after the Expiration of her IEC.
we realize this. For us the choice is that she can work the whole time through the 2 years (inland) or she can work until July and then probably wait 7-8 months for the PR (outland).
A lot of people really are pushing for outland on this forum and while we realize it has many benefits, but being able to work is important to her.

obviously the choice is yours and what is best for your situation. keep in mind there is NO guarantee she will receive the OWP in 4 months. it is still unknown how quickly the owp is being issued for new applicants. we don't know if the "4 months" starts as soon as the application is received or if the "4 months" starts when CIC acknowledges receipt of the application. those timelines are very different, and an applicant *may* be waiting more than 4 months to get an OWP. This is part of the reason why people are still promoting outland, because your wife can possibly be completely done with the process and landed as pr BEFORE she would even see the OWP through inland.
good luck with your application! keep us updated about how long it takes to receive the OWP.
Just filling out imm5710. My wife is currently on an iec visa, which she apparently can not extend.
We're having trouble choosing which one of these to fill out:
3 I am applying for one or more of the following:
1. A work permit with the same employer
2. An initial work permit or a work permit with a new employer
3. Restoration of your status of a worker
4. Temporary Resident Permit
