Nevermind, I got it rescheduled. Etobicoke replied in 16 minutes of my email that they will reschedule me after I come back to Canada. But keep in mind this is because my wife has an Electronic Travel Authorization and Open work permit which allows her to travel by air.

What was your reason to be out of the country? Did you travel together? How was the email response?

Hi All,

I have applied for spousal sponsorship application on 28th December via agent. However I didn't applied for OWP for my wife. Her work permit is now expiring in August 2019 and her employer needs a valid work permit. Please advise -

1) Can I apply for OWP now. since I applied for her PR already
2) If yes, under which category shall I apply - Please share the website link
3) Can I apply myself or via my agent ( representative )

Any guidance will be much appreciated. Thanks.

You are allowed to send a paper application if you haven't yet received AIP. It will still take 3-4 months to process but at least you will keep work status with implied status.

It must be by paper and follow the instructions online.

Make sure you send them what they want even if you submitted the documents with the PR. This is a separate application

*edit* you can only send it by mail if you haven't received AIP. If you've received AIP, you can apply online.

Hello Guys,

Can you tell me if I am wrong? I think the Pr applicants with OWP approval get their BGC started earlier than the ones without OWP. It looks like that is the pattern. Does anyone without OWP get their BGC started yet?

Hopefully, there is no special case for the ones without OWP.

1) YES you can apply now.

3) You don't need an agent to apply, you can apply yourself.

Yes but every case is different and different officers work on cases and sometimes in different locations so you can't compare yourself or your file progress with anyone really
