My friend just got his medical done for PR (AINP - AB provincial nominee). He has lived in Edmonton for three years and his AINP and PR applications were processed while working in Canada. He says that once he has the PR approval, he & family could land by going to the local CIC office and NOT have to go to the US/Canada border? I told him he has to go to the border?
Have I given him a wrong info? Please advise.
One more question, he has a son (20) going to college in Korea, who was also included in his application. Can his son land by himself at a later date when he enters after the family have landed?

1. You gave him wrong information, he can phone the call centre and make an appt. to Land in edmonton. 1-888-242-2100
Thank you PMM for the correction. I corrected myself so he now has the right info.
On the follow-up question: Can his son (who now lives in Korea) land sometime after the rest of his family have landed? That is, can he land separately from the rest of the family?

He can land at CIC in Canada Place. I even heard of somebody just showing up there with their PR visa without an appointment and it was no problem although they probably would prefer that you make an appointment.
