My spouse is here on a temporary visiors visa. We have applied for inland spousal sponsorship just last month..
We have now found out that her mother is dying.
Does anyone know if she can leave for a couple weeks (in the event of family death)without cancelling the application..
If it doesnt cancel the app..and she has a letter with a temp visitors status ... Can she return to the states and will she be let back in? (The letter says that it doesn't garantee re-entrance)
Should we send a request to imigrations asking for a new visitors visa for a new year if she has to leave?
This is just me preparing for worse case scenario.. any help/guidance you can offer us would be greatly appreciated.

A couple of weeks absence would not be seen as a problem from the IRCC perspective. However, there are no guarantees of reentry. If it's denied for any reason, the inland application is effectively abandoned.
