Inland and visas

Hi everyone,

I've tried to find some information about this but I'm left a little confused. Basically I want to sponsor my common-in-law spouse who is in Canada on a Student visa. He's been here for 4 years already, but one condition of his student visa is he must be enrolled in full time studies. If he drops to part time studies or takes a term off while his inland application is processing, will he be asked to leave or will he be allowed to stay during the processing?

You might want to ask that question in the International Students section... Im not sure about others in this forum, but I am no expert on how student visas work, however they should be over there

He's from Brazil, he has a Canadian visa which allows him multiple entries and the student visa. I was looking at implies status, but I don't know if that would apply to student visas.
