We applied Inland on Aug 4, 2011, got the AIP on November 30, 2012 and a decision has been made in early September 2013 and it is approved. As of today, we have not received a letter or email stating their decision. Does anyone know how long before they communicate with the applicant? Apparently, we will be invited to meet with our local office in order to certify the documentation, does it anyone know how long it takes to meet with them after receiving their approval letter?
Hi, It's normal for them to take a while. It is depending on where your local office it. Most busy office like, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver etc. that has a lot of traffic takes 2-3 months. My office was Calgary and it took them almost 6 weeks to send me the appointment letter and the landing appointment was 2 weeks from the day I got the letter. So I think you are still ok, and just be patient.
In the landing appointment you are right they will check your documents but at this point a decision has been made so most questions are generic, (confirm the undertaking of the sponsor, if the principal applicant has been convicted etc.) and I am sure you will do just fine.
It takes about 20 mins. and Voila the applicant is a PR. It's very underwhelming to be honest.haha. They give you a piece of paper. (COPR) and it's done.
