Indian Passport Surrender in India Processing Time

Has anyone surrendered their Indian passport in India? How long does it take to receive the surrender certificate after the passport is surrendered? Is there an option to collect the surrender certificate directly from PSK or it will be sent to our address only?

Passport website has clear instructions on application process but doesn't mention anything about the processing time.

Also Ottawa is taking 6 weeks before the ban for surrender certificate. Currently one is on 7th week.
