Indian passport renewal BLS ottawa-No marriage certificate

My passport is getting expired soon and I have to get it renewed.I recently got married so I have to set marital status as Married,but I do not have marriage certificate as we havent got time to register our marriage in India.we both are PR in canada

what options do I have?
Is it compulsary to add spouse name on passport?
Instead of marriage certificate,can we submit affidavit for marriage from India.

Some of my Indian friends did use the affidavit to get their names on the passport. And they renewed their passports here in BLS.

Some of my Indian friends did use the affidavit to get their names on the passport. And they renewed their passports here in BLS.

I am here in canada and it seems to make the affidavit from India,they need both of us there for signatures.So,we can’t get it either.
Is there any other option or are we just stuck with expired passport and no marriage proof.

Why don't you contact BLS and ask them if it is compulsary to add spouse name on passport?
