I am starting this thread as I was unable to find a detailed discussion on this.
I am an Indian PP holder residing in US & applied for FSW 2014. I am at my last stage & got the Visa stamping email from Ottawa.
As I was preparing for sending my family's PP, I got to know of this rule:
IF YOU ARE AN INDIAN CITIZEN , It's against the law to mail the INDIAN passports to a different country (from the residing country) by Post.
What I have understood from the forum is that people have taken 1 out of these 2 routes:
1. People have taken the risk & gone ahead by sending their Indian PP's from US to Ottawa. Most were successful & did not face any issues.
2. People have requested CIC for stamping at NY or California Canadian visa office.
I want to take Route 2.
What have been the response of CIC for route No 2.

I am an Indian passport holder residing in US--What I did is -- I explained to CPC-Ottawa that I cannot send my Passport outside US--on 10th day I received email from NY --Canadian Consulate giving me JUST 15 DAYS to submit passport.
Don't worry--Just send an email to CPC-Ottawa and things will be taken care of.
I sent my passport to NY -Canadian Consulate and they stamped PR visas to my entire family.
Actually my VO is New Delhi. They have asked us to submit PP to ND or Ottawa (if entire family is in Can).
My husband is in Canada. Me n my child are in US. I emailed ND on 14th May and received no response till date. This morning I have emailed Ottawa and NY.
Also, i have emailed O at
CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca

What are the key things I should email in the subject & body of the mail.
