This is the third time my mother is visiting us, last 2 times she went back within 6 months of stay. This time we would like to extend her stay. She is planing to visit her daughter in USA soon. She landed on March 2018 this time. So whats our best bet ? Let her go and visit her daughter in USA and while entering back, do Canadian officials allow her to say 6 more months or its better to extend her visitor's visa within Canada. If that's the most sensible option, whats the procedure for the same , Kindly advice ?

She will be assessed for a new stay when she re-enters. She could be allowed back in for six months or less. It entirely depends on the immigration officer at the border

She doesn't speak English fluently, so is it a good idea to write a letter asking for more stay or its better not to do anything and if they didn't give her 6 months stay, then we can ask for extension right ?
Thanks Bryanna: To be honest, she is not doing a border run, her daughter recently moved to California and she would love to visit her for a month or so. So I guess , we will do extension. But is it better to do the extension after she is back from California right ? She came here by Mid of March 2018 and planing to head to California by mid of July ?
