Indian passport expires Sept, 2018. Should I apply for PR now or renew my passport first?

I am an Indian citizen and my Indian passport expires September, 2018. I am currently working in Canada on a work permit for more than an year now (since September, 2016). I would like to know if I should apply for PR now or get my passport renewed first before applying for the PR? Would it create any problem if I apply for the PR now and after that renew my passport once I get my PR?
Yes you can stick to your current passport, it would not cause any issues in regards to your PR. As far as the processing stretches, say if you're asked for your passport in June 2018 for your immigration visa stamp, you immigration visa will be issued till September 2018, meaning you will need to land before your passport expires.
Although you can always extend your passport and update your file by sending in the new numbers and copies. If you're super fussy about things, as I were, I renewed my passport (I only had 6 months on it) and then applied for PR.
Either way it's not a big deal. You're already in Canada so I'm guessing you'll be fine as far as landing goes.

I would just renew now as you have to renewed anyway later on so why not doing now and end up that question for parmenent. It will take max 1 month to get ur new passport withing canada.
Thanks for the reply. I got my new passport last week and I am filling up my Express Entry profile currently. In the 'ID- document summary', should I provide information about both my new and old passports or should I provide information of my new passport only.
In case I should provide my old passport info as well, what should I mention in the expiry date for my old passport. Originally, in my old passport expiry date mentioned is September, 2018 but my old passport was cancelled in November, 2017 when they issued my new passport. So what should I mention in the `Expiry Date` column of my old passport.
