Indian Passport Correction Issues Place of Birth

Hello All,

I am on work permit in Canada , I am in process of applying for my PR. I just noticed that my passport have wrong place of birth. I have my birth certificate with correct place of birth. I am Indian Citizen. I talked to lawyer he said I will need to correct it in my passport.

Is it possible to correct Place of Birth in Indian passport ?

Any idea about what are required documents? Can it be done in BLS office in Canada?

Does anybody have corrected Place of birth in passport?

I would really appericate your help.

You can check the following link which wil give you more information about what documents are required:

Please note that you will have to apply for re-issue of Passport under which you should get an option to change the place of birth.

Not sure if it can be done from BLS. However, I did find a link that lists BLS Application Center in Canada for change is date/place of birth:

What you did finally? Did you change the place of birth or you kept as Same and add any affidavit from indian embassy as a document proof of same place of birth

I have same issue. Place of birth in passport and birth certificate mismatched.
What u did in your case. And how much time it took.
What should I do ?
