The parents of Canadian/US born kids cannot get their citizenship renounced. The kids get to decide after they turn 18.
So if an Indian born kid acquires a Canadian citizenship, do the parents get their Indian citizenship renounced for them? Or do kids get to keep Indian passport until old enough to decide for themselves? Have looked at Indian high commission sites, no such info? Pretty sure somebody on this forum knows for sure...
In the Indian Passport issued in Canada for the kid, it is clearly mentioned [Warning] that Passport has to be surrendered when another country Citizenship is received
Hence needs to be surrendered. Shall be checked directly with the Consulate

India does not allow dual citizenship no matter what the age of person is. So, it has to be renounced (even though I am not sure about kids under 18). Please contact BLS canada who provides services:
