Has anyone requested India PCC from the Indian Consulate in Houston recently? There doesn't seem to be a way to track the application.
If anyone had got this done recently..
how long does it usually take to get the PCC and passport delivered back to us?
I had enclosed $20 to ship them back my PCC and passport, does the Consulate use USPS or courier service?
I sent it to reach them on Thursday (8/25). I had emailed them, but they give generic responses. Don't understand why can't they have a tracking system in place, its too stressful sending the passport to them in the first place and now we can't know whats going on or when we will get it back.
I don't think they use BLS or any other such service here in the Houston consulate.
Here also there is no tracking system. If police verification report is not available online, then they will wait for police verification report from India. One of my friend got PCC after 3 months.

Gosh! 3 months!? Where in Indian he is from? Maybe that matters? Did your frnd have the passport that was issued in India? A guy who applied for PCC at the Atlanta consulate, got it in 2 days. He had renewed his passport at Chicago consulate here.
i got my pcc from houston in March. there is no need to stress. Yes there is no way to track the application. but they are really fast in processing them. i got my approval in 2 weeks. Thereafter, i was asked to mail the passport to them which i did in 4 days and then got my passport back 3-4 days later.
They are much faster than FBI.
I did draft a nice email to them asking the status of my application and i got a response from them the following day. overall, i was really pleased and impressed with the Houston consulate.

I had applied for Indian PCC at CGI Houston in June and it took about 3 weeks to get my passport back along with the PCC. They will ship it through FedEx "extremely urgent" shipping.
I had sent them an email after two weeks of my application being delivered but they happened to reply me on the day I got my PCC.

Have experience of New York consulate
They mailed both my and spouse passport & PCC back on the 5th day. (one was issued in New York and the other in New Delhi).
I had called them up and they were very patient and helpful and clarified all doubts I had with regard to filling up the form, money order etc.
Don't know about tracking, since they were so quick I really didn't need to check up.
Does anyone have experience with the Chicago Consulate. I had renewed my passport an year ago at Chicago Consulate. Now need to apply for PCC. My current visa (H1B) is under extension and my employer is responding to a RFE.
Any experience on how much time it would take?
I am thinking of mailing them above mentioned completed documents along with passport and other documents? Any inputs on Houston processing like which is best way for PCC? Direct walkin or through mail?
One friend told me that for New York it is online form
