Hi all, I am Canadian and want to sponsor my wife who still live abroad, her Passport and ID places of birth differ from her Birth Certificate, it is the town that differs and Passport and ID need to be changed. Can my wife and me start our applications for sponsorship and correct that during the process if we are requested to do that or we should first correct that before applying? Correcting that mistake can take more than 4 months because of the pandemic. Thanks for your advice.

I would say to correct the mistake first since you run the risk of being refused or getting the application returned if things don't add up.

Replace the ID, it's not like the address (on the passport) where a mistake is tolerable. Place of birth is an important and a capital information on a passport.

Fix the passport and ID before you apply.
