Income tax return--(not income in 2016)

Hi everyone,

I hope, you could help me with this question.

I came to Canada with my husband in September 2016. I have an open work permit but I couldn't find a job until late January, 2017. So I didn’t have any income in 2016. For that reason, my question is:

Do I have to file an income tax return or something related to that for 2016?

Please, I need someone that could advise me about this.

No, you are not required to file a 2016 tax return.
