My consultant sent abu dhabi an email and they replied saying this:
This file is with the visa officer in queue for review. After review, the next steps in this application will be determined. Until then, we will not be able to provide any additional information on this case.
Your patience is appreciated.
Sincerely,

Can someone tell me what the next steps usually are?
if you received sponsorship approval, your consultant is right. the file gets batched with other applications and sits there until it's time for those applications to be processed. the next step is usually waiting. The next time you hear from CIC will be a request for more information to support your application or your passport request.
Your consultant is right, there is nothing to do now except wait until CIC gets in touch. Be prepared for months of silence. To get an idea on a "Timeline", find the thread specific to your visa office, and see what the current "Trends" are.
that still doesn't change the fact that your application is in qeue for review by an officer, and that all you can do is wait. Generally, everyone's ECAS says "medicals received" from the start. it means absolutely nothing in terms of a timeline or what will be next.
Its just saying your file is just there waiting for someone to look at it! Nothing to worry about. Its just there on a desk waiting for an officer to look!
