I have an appointment to apply in person for my passport at Service Canada. Does my guarantor need to sign and date a copy of my ID. I know my guarantor has to sign and date my ID if I’m mailing the application but would like to confirm if that is the case with in person passport application.

I completed the online request on a Wednesday night (March 2nd), missed a call from Service Canada on 4th of March so I was called again on the 7th of March and appointment scheduled for 17th of March.
@Teebanks how was your in-person appointment experience? Any advice as i’ll be applying soon for passport and planning of doing it in-person. Thank you.

Hey….my appointment was actually at Service Canada. It took around 35mins for everything to be done. The application was for myself and my wife. Go with the required documents. It shouldn’t take long if you have an appointment.
My wife submitted the documents for both of us (we both went to Service Canada though). We were told one person can submit for both of us so she went in while I waited. However, I cannot say for certain if all centres allow this.

Walk-in application (Vancouver, Service Canada at Sinclair building downtown)
Applied on (in-person): August 4 (Friday)
Application non-urgent. Just a general, classic application.
I choose mailed to me option (not pick-up - hate going downtown from North Vancouver.) Was told that the passport should be mailed out on August 21 (Monday)
Given that August 7t (Monday) was a holiday - BC Day, it is a very reasonable timeline - 10 business days. Plus, I assume +/- 2 days for mailing/shipping. I plan to get it next week - August 23-24 (Wednesday - Thursday). All in all - with shipping - should be 13-14 business days.
