In-Canada TRV passport return: is signature required?

I purchased Xpresspost envelope to send my passport to Ottawa. I was wondering when they return my passport using the standard envelope I sent to them, will Canada post require me to sign or the postman simply drops the envelope to my mail box?

If you select signature required, yes.
