In Canada- expired visa- valid work permit until Aug 2013

Hello,

My visa has expired but my work permit is still valid until Aug 2013. Am I an illegal? Can I renew my visa and work permit in time? What should I do to be sure I can stay in Canada?

Not at all. Expired Visa doesnt mean you are illegal. Visa is just to travel In & Out a country. If you wont do anything to extend your Work Permit than after Aug 2013 you will be illegal here.
Give some more information about your status so that others can help you.

I am from Peru and my work permit expires August 12/2013. My Visa expired November 7/2012. I need to apply to renew my visa and the work permit right? I plan on doing that first thing Monday. Do you think I will get a response before Aug 12? What other information should I provide here?

information like when did you come here, How did you come, On study base or on work permit. Are you working full time right now?
If Yes, from how long you are working and what is your job title. Is your employer ready to extend your work permit etc.

I came in 2005 with my parents because of my dads position as a diplomat. He was the general console of Peru in Canada. I came with a study permit and graduated in 2010 when I acquired a work permit. I am working full time and have been since 2010. I am a painter and Free lance graphic designer. My employer is ready to extend my work permit. I know that I have to get a letter of employment, is that where my employer says he will extend the permit? What exactly should be included in the letter of employment?

.you need to get LMO[ Labour market opinion ]from your employer .it"s takes 6-12 weeks depending on province where they applied.after that you've to apply workpermit via online or by mail .for more follow below link. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/extend-stay.asp

You are legal until end of your work permit, i.e. until Aug 2013. If you have applied for CEC and received your AOR you are entitled to apply for bridging open work permit. You can apply for it up to the date of expiry of your original work permit and you will be eligible to work at your current job and stay in Canada under implied status until the decision on your BOWP will be reached.
