Important: In Canada with after graduation open work permit.

Hello everyone I have a question, I went to college last year for a program of a year and after I graduated I got my after graduation work permit, but now I will like to study again here in Canada.

1. Can I apply for a study permit inside Canada as I have a work permit and I am legally in the contry with a job?
2. Can I have both permits, My current work permit and a study permit?
3. My work permit is till November this year, if i have to apply for a study permit should I do it before my work permit is over or after?

If you're thinking about PGWP after new studies.
Then it is not possible.
Post graduation work permit is a one time permit.

2. As you're an International student. You can work only 20 hrs per week on OCWP [you have to apply for it.]

Who may apply for a study permit from within Canada?

The following persons may apply from within Canada:
•Holders of valid work or study permits and their family members; The OP holds a valid work permit.
•Holders of temporary resident permits (TRPs) valid for a minimum of six months and their family members;
•Refugee claimants and persons subject to an unenforceable removal order;
•In-Canada permanent resident applicants and their family members who are members of the following classes, determined eligible for permanent residents (PR) status:
live-in caregiver, spouse or common-law partner, protected persons, and humanitarian and compassionate considerations (H&C);
•Persons whose study permits were authorized by a visa office abroad, where the permit was not issued at a port of entry;
•Family members of athletes on a Canadian-based team, media representatives, members of the clergy, or military personnel assigned to Canada.

No.. you cannot apply for Study permit from within Canada

Not so fast, my dear!!!! There is conflicting information between the link in my previous comment and this one: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/apply-where.asp

So not sure which is correct... please contact the CIC call centre and if possible an experienced immigration lawyer before you apply to be on the safe side.

Under Canada, it says:
Canada (for temporary lawful resident only)

For new study or temporary work permits, apply to:
Los Angeles
New York

For new temporary resident visas (MUST hold a valid study or work permit), apply to:
CPP-O

Visitors in Canada, who require a TRV, can no longer submit their application to a visa office in the United States when applying from inside Canada. They must apply either to the visa office responsible for their country of nationality, or to a visa office in a country in which they are present and have been legally admitted.

Important:i have lost my medical receipt from cic designated practitioner

hiiiiii!!!!!i have lost my IMM 1017 and i need it to apply for my co-op work permit......do i have to take medical examination again.....or i can request a copy of that from the practitioner back in my country who did my examination..what can i do?????

Hello to everyone again! I found all the answers lol I can apply for a study permit inside canada as lng as I have what I need to.apply like.invitation.letter and all that cuz I am.legally in here and after I get my permit I apply with that for my student visa ( cuz I am.pretty.sure you all know that.the visa is just to.go in and out of the country) the permit is the most important one to be inside de country. Anyways thanks very much for your help! Time to.go and study again!!
