Dear members
This forum has been a great help in PR process. I am now at PPR step. Received my passport request and will be sending PP soon.
Due to some personal reasons, I will need to wait for some months before I can do landing at Canada-US border. My question is how long we can wait to do landing after receiving passports back from Ottawa. I know Ottawa tells that to the candidates when returning the passports, however I don't know the exact no of days/months. So please if you could provide me this information, that would be appreciated.
I am holding back on sending passports (I have 60 days for sending PP as mentioned in e-mail) also because I don't know how much I can wait before landing.
You must land before the expiry of PR visa. Visa expiry will be same as the medical expiry date (= Medical exam date + 1 year).

Hi eds
Thanks a lot... Hope you are enjoying the festivities.
I saw this info on CIC website too and here all confusion started...
from CIC: Usually, the expiry date is one year from the time medical examinations were completed.
Just to confirm: my visa expiry date will be 1 year from when I did Medicals (15th Oct) or when CIC received (25th Nov) ???

It is 1 year from the date on which CIC medical officer reviews the medical results. I did medical on Nov 6th. Doctor uploaded on Nov 8th. I guess CIC medical officer reviewed on Nov 12th. GCMS says results are valid until Nov 12th 2014.
