I am about to send off the application to extend my spouses visitor visa. He has a month until his status expires. If we do not hear back from them until after his first six months are up, he is considered to be here on implied status, correct?
Correct. Until a decision is made on his extension application, he remains under the same terms as when he first entered Canada. This is "implied" status.
I sent off my form to have my status re-instated. It expired and I had no idea I could even send in an application to have it extended. But I did send in the restoring status app with-in 90 days. Do I have implied status until I receive their decision as well?
Good luck with your app! I hope we both get approved =)
No, you don't have "implied status" because you did not apply before it expired. However, as yo've applied for restoration within 90 days, you can stay until a decision is made.

Extensions are refused for lack of proper documentation, lack of adequate proof of finances and lack of proof of intent. If you are applying for the extension to wait out a PR application, make sure you submit proof of the PR application (fees receipt, airwaybill for submission to CPC-M/V, sponsor approval letter etc).
proof of employment for my wife(who is my sponsor) which included a letter from her employer, pay stubs, and her job details printed from her HR account online that had her yearly salary and other info about her pay.
Recent bank statements for my wife that show she has the proper funds to support me, as well as our joint savings account.
A notarized letter from my wife stating that she will support me while I am in Canada.
A print out of my own most recent bank statement showing that I have funds of my own that I can use if I need to.
A copy of the receipt from my application for PR.
We also were as detailed as possible with our explanation of the situation.
Do you think this enough proof to get my status restored? I really wish I would have known before my status expired =( We were wrongly informed by a lawyer that only people applying inland could apply for an extension.
