Implied Status Question

Good day everyone.

My American girlfriend was restricted on her visitor visa to 3 months which ends soon (Aug 3) She has applied for an extension (another 3 months) but has yet to recieve any word back. She has a copy of the extension payment receipt.

I have read about Implied Status on GOC webpage and am wondering if it applies in this case?? Or does she have to leave by Aug 3 if she doesn't hear anything back? I would expect Canada would send something saying they recieved her application no?

She can remain in Canada under implied status until a decision is made for the extension application.
