So my wife and kids are attending school in Canada. Wife got an admission from a college, and I was planning to get an OWP with her.
I was collecting documents I need, and figured I have DUI 7 years ago.
I had no idea this was actually a "conviction" I thought it was wrapped up like a traffic ticket.
I am from visa-exempt country, I have an eTA. I did not claim my previous record because I didn't know I have one.
So I will be honest from now. I will apply for TRP and open work permit all together. And I will also apply rehabilitation. I am hoping to be able to stay in Canada until my wife and kids finish their school.
In this case, would "Implied status" apply until I get a decision with TRP/OWP?
Having eTA allows me to stay for 6 months - and My status will be expired in 5 months.
I'm looking to have valid status in Canada. I don't think I can extend Visitor Record because I will have to say I have a criminal record. So by applying TRP/OWP together, would i get implied status automatically?
