Immigration requesting more cohabitation for two years?!?

Hey,

I received communication from immigration that they need more cohabitation evidence for common law PR. . Sure, we’ll figure that out.

But what I don’t understand is why they’re requesting documents for over a year after I submitted my application.

Application submitted: 2017:06:16

They said our documentation “must provide evidence at least one year prior to the date of your application (2016:06:16 or prior)”

Shouldn’t that date be the date we submitted our application? Why are they requesting docs one year after we submitted submitted? Am I crazy?

They’re asking for documents that are at least 1 year before you submitted. So you submitted on June 16, 2017 and they want proof that’d you’d been living together at least a year by the date you applied. So the documents showing how long you have been together must show you’ve been living together since June 16, 2016 or earlier.

Agree with this. They are staying the documents must be dated June 16, 2016 or earlier to prove you have the full year of cohabitation. So if you're showing a bank statement or utility bill or rental agreement, it should be from this date or earlier.
