Immigration check process at the border (travel through bus).

Whats the check process when you travel to Canada through USA border on a Bus transport for valid PR holders i.e. how do they do the immigration check at the border. Does the officer enter the bus and check the passport/PR of every passenger or the passengers have to get down and do their immigration check at the counter?

Anyone who has travelled through bus (mega bus etc) can please update.

All buses drive to the main building attached to the border crossing and park there. Everyone gets off the bus and collects their luggage. Then everyone has to individually pass through immigration (with their luggage) and speak with an immigration officer where their passport is scanned and any other relevant documentation (e.g. PR card) reviewed. It's pretty much the same as immigration at the airport.

I suppose the same process occurs when entering Canada with a private car, correct?

thanks scylla for the info. One more question. Do we have to fill the disembarkation card i.e. the customs declration form as we do when we travel by Air and where we also mention the last date of departure from the country. Please if you can let me know asap.

There's no customs declaration form. The customs officer you speak with asks all of these questions verbally instead.
