Hi Everyone:

My boyfriend who is 44 lives in the US and wants to move to Nova Scotia, Canada..... so we can live together. He is a very skilled mechanic with over 30 years experience. What steps would he have to take to be able to move here?

We have read up on getting a work permit, a PR, Visa etc. etc. But we are finding it all a bit confusing as to which way to go or where to start and how long it would take? We are planning on getting married within the next 6 months....would this change the process?

I am not able to work and am on Social assistance while I apply for disability..... so he will want to get a job asap.....we will also be living with my parents until we find our own place.

Is there any advice you can give us to help understand what steps we need to make so he can be here with me? He is hoping to be here before the fall of 2016.

Thank you so much for helping us.
