Hi, I'm looking to move my family to Canada from the UK. Both my wife and I are degree educated and we have 2 boys aged 6 & 4. What would be the best way to apply to come over?

I've seen some posts stating that no new applications will be processed as there is a strike by federal workers. is this the case? if it is what would be the time frame to get an application processed?

any help or information would be greatly received.

Applications are certainly being processed while the strike is on - they are just being processed slower.

In addition to what Scylla suggested, you can look into provincial immigration programs. All (or most?) provinces have programs to "nominate" immigrants. Once you've been selected by the province, federal processing is greatly simplified and focuses on issues like criminality, health and security, which are a formality for most people. The criteria will be different in each province. You need to intend to live in that province after coming to Canada.
