Hi everyone...
long time reader, first time poster.

The Seoul embassy is starting to drive me a little bit crazy, and I am wondering if anyone else has dealt with them.

I am an American applying for residency from Korea. My boyfriend and I spent months putting together our application, and i am 100% sure it is complete.

I submitted the complete package to Mississauga in May 2011. We didn't hear from ANYONE until I got a letter on July 13, 2011 from the embassy in Seoul. This letter was the standard "acknowledge of receipt" and gave me a file number I could use to login to CIC.
Since that time, my CIC status has remained the same, "application received on June, 21. Medical results received."
I moved to a different apartment in October, and sent the embassy my change of address, but the change was never reflected on my CIC profile.
Because my application is past the standard processing time of 7 months, I am wondering if I should be worried about the CIC status...
If it is "application received" does that mean they haven't even OPENED it yet? Am I looking at staying here for a super long time? My Korean working visa is running out soon, so I am in desperate need of some answers.... and the embassy doesn't seem to be keen on responding to my emails.

Am I allowed to speak to someone in person if I visit the embassy? I would just like to get this figured out.

p.s.- this site has been so helpful. thanks to everyone for helping each other out. you are all amazing!! :D

You can try sending en email to the Case Specific Center and inquire about your status. The email address could be found with the email they sent you which shows your UCI.

The processing time is now 9 months. We are one day after you for the Seoul office receipt. Still waiting here. We still have 2 more days until the average processing time. Then, I'm not sure what to do. Have you heard anything yet?
