I am applying for a work permit and the form mentioned in subject (IMM5802 Offer of Employment to a Foreign National LMIA-Exempt) is no longer used/accepted, according to:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1266&top=17
All I have got from my employer is the "offer of employment number" (which looks like X1234567) and a receipt of employer compliance fee being paid. Fortunately though, this IMM5802 form is listed under "Optional" section.
Do you think I'll be fine if I don't submit anything here? I was thinking maybe to create a PDF with that "offer of employment number" and a receipt?
Hi,
I am not sure whether the form is different if you are applying from within Canada. But I just process my exempt work permit outside of Canada, using form IMM 1295 (07 2016). On page 2, in the DETAILS OF INTENDED WORK IN CANADA, question 1 "what type of work permit are you applying for" you need to select Exemption from LMIA, then question 6. ask about the LMIA Exempt number. I think I submitted proof that my employer paid the compliance fee, offer of employment, and other relevant info (I even had a letter of recommendation from my supervisor that she had drafted for my PR).
Hope this helps.
