Dear all,

We're in the process of my husband sponsoring me under Family Sponsorship (Spousal). My husband is a Canadian PR holder- we've been married for a year and half- been together for 4 years.

Query: IMM5532- (Relationship information) PART C asks for circumstance of first meeting. We initially met at a house party hosted by a girl we both knew. However, we had a fall out with her about 3 years ago- haven't had contact since.

So ideally we'd have to fill this as we were introduced by her. But we can't get a reference letter or anything.

People who had mentioned friends as introducing them often list the person's name and use their reference in support of the application. So not sure what to do here- or how important this is. The rest of the application is pretty solid.

TIA!

I don't think a letter from the person who introduced you is required. Just tell the truth and give other relationship proof.

Accurate. They're much more interested in seeing that you've been in a genuine relationship over the course of time. If they somehow rule against your application because you've missing this one particular letter, many other applicants (myself included) are in trouble!

You don't need a reference letter from the person who introduced you. IRCC is not even going to notice this, let alone care.
