IMM5406: who should fill this form? applicant or sponsor?

my wife is PR, and she will sponse me.

IMM5406, at the top of the form, it said "The principal applicant, their spouse or common-law partner (if applicable), and all dependent children 18 years of age or older must complete their own copy of this form".

but, in checklist, it said IMM5406 only need to be completed by applicat.

so what should I follow?

so both of us have to fill this form? totally, when I submit my application to Canadian Government, there should be two copies of this form, one for me, and one for my wife?

and how is that possible applicant is my wife, she is already PR. she will sponse me to apply PR.

Follow the Checklist (as you have to submit that with your application package), but use the Checklist for guidance..

I mean, she can fill one out if she feels left out and wants to -- but Canada already 'knows' her. They don't know you. If you look at the Checklist (which is required to submit) it states to only include the one you fill out...

for application purposes, the sponsor is not a "spouse or common-law partner". they are the sponsor. This form is generic for all immigration streams, so this is not specific to spousal sponsorship. this is referring to when a couple are immigrating together through another stream. the only people who need to fill out the applicant forms are the people who are seeking PR status. the sponsor is not seeking pr status, therefore they are only required to fill out the sponsor forms.

U only need to fill it..
for spousal cases ur sponsor/spouse need not fill the form..
the confusion is cause this form is for family sponsorships too where for example if my brother would have been sponsoring me and my husband.. in that case me and my husband wud have to fill the form..

in ur case u only should fill it..
