Imm. Attorney/representative in Bangkok??

Hi,
I am trying to locate an immigration attorney/law firm in Bangkok(Thailand) which can handle family permanent immigration case (Skilled worker category) as a representative.

Actually Canadian consulate in Thailand doesn't accept permanent immigration applications and Canadian Embassy in Singapore handles applications from Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore etc.

I am residing in Bangkok. So is it better to find an attorney in Bangkok or from Singapore would be better?
Can anyone suggest/recommend a law firm in Bangkok/Singapore whom I can contact to represent our case?

There are probably lawyers in Singapore or Bangkok who could help you out, but I would really suggest you use one based in Canada. They have better access to legal remedies if there are problems with your case.

1. Note the representative has to be a member of the Canadian Bar, or a consultant a member of CSIC.
2. A lot of overseas applicants hire a representative in Canada, as all the consultation can usually be done via phone and email.
3. You may want to discuss your case with the sponsor of this forum.

But I am (an Indian and) residing in Thailand at the moment and as I know, my application would be processed by CIC Singapore. So if my representative is in Canada, how would he handle all documents (doc.) like our certificates etc to be submitted later??

Do u mean he would be directing me to send doc. time to time to him to Canada & then he would check and send them to Canadian Embassy in Singapore??

You would send all your documents to the lawyer, who would review them and make sure nothing is missing. He would then "perfect" them, attach a letter from the lawfirm giving a professional opinion of your application, and forward everything to CIC.

Keep in mind that in order to apply from Thailand, you must have been admitted for at least a 1 year period. That means you'd need a Non-Imm visa. A tourist visa or an entry stamp isn't sufficient.

Yup, I just finished 1 year and got my visa and workpermit extended for another year.
Can you recommend any lawyer/representative since I stay in Bangkok??

Actually, I'm American. My partner is Thai.

I would recommend David Cohen, though he's in Canada. You can send the documents to Canada and have his staff take care of them. They will review everything and make sure your case proceeds correctly.
