Hey guys,

I have several questions regarding different forms in the application package for sponsoring my husband.

1. IMM 1344, sponsor detail Q#9 & IMM 0008, personal details Q#14

Before my husband and I got married last year, we declared to CRA as common law in 2015. Therefore, do I select YES or NO for the question, "Have you previously been married or in a common-law relationship?".

I answered NO because of common law and married <--- same guy/person.

2. IMM 5533 Part B Supporting Documents for Sponsor Q#5 (Employment/Source of Income)
I am a sponsor who is currently unemployed but looking for a job right now. How would I be able to provide employment/source of income, should I write a letter of explanation?

3. IMM 5533 Part B Supporting Documents for Sponsor Q#4 (Previous relationships) - Have you (the sponsor) previously been sponsored yourself for permanent residence?

Should I select yes and provide my mom's info because I was sponsored by my mom when my family immigrated and applied for citizenship in Canada around 2005?

1. No is correct

2. Yes you'll want to include a letter of explanation, as a letter from your employer is a requirement and they will return the app without it. You need to include a letter of explanation in its place

3. Yes that's correct

2. As you aren't working, you need to explain and provide other proof of how you will support yourselves. Your income potential, your husband's income, family assistance, savings etc.

3. If your family all became PRs at the same time, you were a dependent included in an app, not a sponsored person.

Thanks for your help, but I see there might be a different thought on #3 as I was probably a dependent family member when I was a child and not a sponsored person. I am not sure if I should select yes or no for that one.

Hey since you had a different opinion for #3 than KBH, do you suggest I should select no because I was probably a dependent child when all my family members became PR at the same time?

Canuck is right, I skimmed over your question too quickly. You were not sponsored.
