Hi. On the IMM 5532 they ask you to put your client ID number in case if you have already previously dealt with CIC. It's our first time applying therefore we don't have a client ID number yet so what would be a right thing to do-just leave this question blank or put N/A? Any ideas? Thanks.

Your client ID, also referred to as a UCI, is on all documents you get from us. It is an eight or ten-digit number that looks like this: 0000-0000 or 00-0000-0000.
If you are applying to us for the first time, you will not yet have a client ID. If you are filling out a form that asks for one, write “Not Applicable” or “N/A” in the space provided.
If you are applying online and the form does not allow you to input “N/A,” leave the space blank.
If I understand correct, the same goes for the IMM 0008 for question #3 UCI number and I also will have to put N/A as an answer on this question too? What confused me was that on the complete basic guide there was an instruction for this form and it said “put your UCI number if you know it otherwise leave it blank”. So did you guys also put N/A on this form as well? Thanks.
I just tried to put N/A in the IMM 0008 form as an answer for UCI number but it doesn't get validated if I do it. So shall I just print out the form and write N/A with pen or leave it blank? Any ideas? I don't know what would be better to do...Thanks.
The Compete Guide (IMM 5289) under "Step 5. Check your application to avoid common mistakes" clearly states:
You must fill out all sections, unless instructed otherwise. If a section doesn’t apply to you, you must write “Not applicable” or “N/A”.
Thus, do not leave any questions blank. If the form will not allow you to enter "N/A" electronically, then yes, write it in by hand once you've printed it out.

Thank you very much! Some of the sections on those forms that need validation get automatically shaded grey for questions that don't apply to me, so do I still have to put N/A by pen after printing them out even though they are shaded grey?

No where it’s greyed out you just leave it. This application is all paper-based so if there’s a section that is NOT greyed out but it doesn’t not apply to you, you must write N/A either before or after printing
Thanks a lot! What about those questions where you have to choose an answer either yes or no. If I already ticked the box "no", do I still have to put N/A in the tables below where I'd be supposed to put a description if I had answered "yes" ?
