Hello, here's the situation: My husband (sponsor) and I have been for a total of 6 months in Thailand last year as tourists. Every 2 months, in total 2 times, we have left Thailand for a couple minutes, entered Malaysia and then re-entered Thailand to be able to continue our stay.
Question:
Does tourism count as having "lived" in a country and if so, do I check the box "yes" and therefore have to provide a Thai police certificate?

It's safe to assume IRCC will request the PCC from Thailand. It's not "living" that matters, is the risk of being implicated in something when you spend so much time in that location. You might try to submit your application without it, just complete the personal history and travel history thoroughly and see if it gets returned. But be ready if they ask you to get the PCC.
