I have a cousin who is illegal immigrant in the US and we have family that are based in Vancouver and he wants to move to Canada and see if he can apply for this program. Can anyone please help us figure out this? Is this possible that he can apply for provincial nomination program here in the US?
It's doubtful he'll be admitted into Canada to visit or get a work permit. Canada and the US do share information. He will also need to declare the overstay on any visa applications.
Thank you for your reply. But i saw some threads that shows a little hope for my cousin. I hope I can hear from them and know at least a few first steps that they took to get where they are now.
It's going to be extremely hard for him to get any temporary status in order to qualify for PNP. He's overstayed in another country and doesn't live in his home country - that's poor ties to his home country. CIC would suspect he may overstay. However, that doesn't mean it can't happen, just not likely.
When you're getting advice about PNP, make sure it's for the province he will go to. The provinces have different rules.
I would like to ask few questions. Here's the situation...
I am planning to apply for MPNP Family Stream - First Cousin under FSWP but I have an overstay record in the US. I was not deported and have no criminal record or violation. I was in transit visa before I overstayed. I was there from July 2003 to February 2006. Through the self-assessment form I can say that I am qualified and have a score of 76 pts. But I am very worried because of this situation.
1. Will this affect my application? Will my application be denied because of this?
2. Do I have to declare it? or just hide it? ( I am afraid if they find out they will automatically deny my application)
3. If I will fill up the application soon (Form IMM 5669) Background declaration, what shall I put on the "status in country" part?
