If Sponsor not approved-withdraw or continue????

I am applying Outland from the U.S. and would like some advice on the IMM1344 Application to sponsor.
Question 1....Withdraw or Proceed....to be honest, the only concern I have with our application is sponsorship approval. My husband and I are near retirement age, don't have much in savings (both had bad divorces) though my husband will have his U.S. pension and I have a Canadian income. We both do plan on continuing to work when we return to Canada. Any thoughts.

It's really personal preference...of course everyone worries about this - but I put 'proceed' since I didn't like the alternative! I'm sure you will do due diligence to send a strong application and then needn't have to worry in the future!

Any thoughts.

Spouse does not need to have income to sponsor his/her spouse to Canada. You have his pension and you HAVE Canadian one- it is more than enough.

You should never tick the box to continue if the sponsor is found ineligible. That is only of any use if you anticipate claiming an H&C exemption to sponsor eligibility. You are a) wasting your time and b) wasting your money. It's MUCH better to withdraw, fix the problem and then reapply.

It has nothing to do with personal preference. If the sponsor is found ineligible, then if you check "proceed", the app will be sent and continue to be processed at visa office, they will charge the full $475 applicant processing fee, but due to sponsor being ineligible it's a guaranteed rejection. There is zero chance an app will be approved if sponsor was ineligible. As Zardoz mentioned, the only reason to do this is if one knows they are ineligible, expects a rejection but want's to appeal on H&C grounds.

Practically everyone is supposed to check "withdrawal". Then if sponsor is ineligible, the app stops right there and $475 processing fee is returned. The sponsor can then address the issue, and apply again when they are eligible.
