IELTS RESULT WITHHELD

Hi Everybody,

I had appeared for an IELTS academic test on 18/08/18. The result was expected today afternoon, but instead i have received a mail from the British council stating "Due to strict quality control procedures, test scores for the 18 August 2018 have come under scrutiny and are being investigated. Your results are being withheld while this investigation is being conducted. "

Kindly advise What could be the possible reason and how can i get my results now ?

don’t worry, mate, it’s just part of quality control. british council and idp randomly selects test results for audit purposes. i got mine withheld when i took my ielts last year. the result will be released approximately 2 weeks after that notice. if you have a deadline with your college/uni, british council will issue you a letter explaning the reason which you can forwad to your college/uni.

we’re the fortunate souls that were randomly picked for the quality control

I had almost guessed it right. Currently, the most notorious place on the planet to take IELTS

If someone is serious student then better travel to neighboring states like Rajasthan, Himachal etc... and take the test. Otherwise it is pretty much rigged up system there.

My ITA expires on 12-Sep-2018. I have also appeared for IELTS from BC on 18th August. My results are also withheld with the same mail as given in the thread. My old IELTS expired on 12-Aug-2018. Please guide me should i proceed further and apply for PR before 12th Sep or decline my invitation? I am already in receipt of Nova Scotia nomination, it will expire on 31-Dec-2018.

Do we get any update date as well from BC ?

after about 2 weeks, bc will send an email that your test results are no longer withheld. then, the following day, you will receive your official copy by courier. please note that the 2 weeks is just an approximation. that’s how long it took in my case last november 2017.

random quality check is done to protect the integrity of the tests. it doesn’t necessarily mean that you did something to arouse the suspicion of bc (or idp).

I believe you should post your query in PR related forum. Someone in that forum would be in better position to answer appropriately. This is international student forum and many would not have seen situation similar to yours.

Same problem with me. Itz been almost 2 months, I haven't got my results yet.

I did, they said they do not know how much time it will take. When Cambridge will publish the result, they will give mail. But my deadline for masters application is coming in 1 month. So, it is frustrating now. I have given the exam on 13th October. It is almost 2 months now!
