Hi folks,

Me and my wife (along with a very young daughter) are going to apply for immigration under FSW Cat 1 soon. The main applicant is going to be my wife, as she is a General Physician (NOC Category 3112), and I will go as a dependant. We have a confusion as to, do both of us need IELTS test to be taken, or is it just the main applicant.

Also, is it correct that any score (above 7) is acceptable ?

Its just the principal applicant that needs to take the IELTS.
No specific target on the band scores.
Principal applicant needs to have a pass mark of 67.

You can find the passmark information online at CIC website.

you get a maximum of 4 points each for reading, writing, and speaking if your band score is 6.5 and above.
You need 7.5 to gain 4 points in listening.
You can find detailed information at skilled worker manual
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled.asp
Hope this helps
Good luck

Just want to add that your wife must sit for Genneral training IELTS(academic is not acceptable)

Many thanks for your answers. I was unable to find any information regarding IELTS for the dependants/family members in Application Forms as well.

Not trying to be rude or anything, but anywhere I can verify this from ? Thanks for reading.
