My ielts result is out and I made the following:
Speaking 7.0,
Writing 7.5,
Reading 6.5
Listening 5.5.
Overall Score 6.5(?).
I think this should have been =/> 7 (do not know how they arrived at 6.5). The question is this: Does this qualify me to apply as a Mechanical Engineer?
I assume you are asking about applying through the FSW program. If so, then your score is too low and your application will be automatically refused if you apply with the IELTS score you have now. You much have a score of at least 6 in each band. However you have 5.5 in Listening - which disqualifies you from applying.
I’m an aspired candidate for the program (FSW). My spouse has IELTS “Academic Module” Score of 6.5. Whether academic module IELTS score will be considered for spouse’s language ability (Adaptability) or she need to sit for a General Module?
Very Urgent. Please enlighten.

Minimum band of 6 in each category is sufficient to apply for FSW for Canada.

Minimum band of 6 in each category is sufficient to apply for FSW for Canada. Since you have only 5.5 in listening, you may not be eligible to apply.
