I'll be applying for a study permit + TRV soon as I've been selected for my PhD studies in Montreal after my M.Tech (9.6 CGPA) and B.Tech(77.7%) on full funding. IELTS is mentioned as "Strongly Recommended" in the document checklist. I did not appear for either IELTS/TOEFL as the university does not have any requirements. Will IELTS score be really necessary for visa process? I am worried it may delay my visa application. My session starts January 1st and I can only appear for IELTS after 24th Aug (as I am traveling for now).
